Hakvutza is a dance and movement school for adults over the age of twenty established in 2001 by a group of students who dreamed of dancing and fulfilled their dreams by developing a new conceptual school for adults. The school was established to be a doorway into the world of dance and serve as professional platform for everyone who wants to develop their skills as a dancer and as a creator, regardless of his previous background.

For 14 years, the school was based in the Jewish-Arab Center in Jaffa, unfortunately we had to leave the premises where the school started out.

For months we searched for a new home and couldn’t find a place to meet our needs.

Our community students and teachers stood before the dilemma of closing the school, a mutual idea arose to build a new school with our own hands, it sounded like a crazy idea though we seriously started examining all options and embarked on the mission, we rented a property in an underprivileged neighborhood in southern Tel Aviv neighborhood, a large warehouse that will turn into a professional dance studio with a house and courtyard to be used as an office and a home for the students during the day.

We have started the establishment of our new school but the work to the final accomplishment is grave.

The dance studios cost hundreds of thousands of NIS, thus includes simultaneously renovating the warehouse to be a double dance studio, building and laying a professional dance floor, lining acoustic partitions two dance studios and building a home for the dancers 

The Kvutza is an independent school and our resources are limited to our income.

With a minute but chosen staff and an audited financial budget we were/are able to develop a stable professional school with a variety of dance programs.

Our resources are not enough to both renovate and operate the school as one!

We don’t want to stop our dream of giving more and more people of all ages the opportunity to discover the magic of movement and dance in this special place where hundreds of students have studied in the last 14 amazing years.

We are very excited about the move to our new home and we are mutually excited to have the opportunity to execute all of the new projects we have only dreamed about and for us the sky’s the limit.
